Guides, not advice — always verify with the official authority

Editorial Standards & Corrections Policy

Last updated [DATE]

Our rule: if we can't verify it, we don't publish it.

1. Sourcing

Every guide is checked against primary, official sources before publication — national immigration authorities (BAMF, Migrationsverket, IND, Urząd do Spraw Cudzoziemców, and equivalents), EU institutions (EURES, Your Europe, SOLVIT), and official tax/banking bodies where relevant. We link to the specific authority you should verify with at the end of every guide.

2. Personal experience, clearly labelled

Some guides — particularly the Researcher (PhD/Postdoc) section — draw on the founder's own lived experience of German and Swedish immigration systems since 2019. Where a claim is personal experience rather than an official rule, we say so explicitly rather than presenting it as universal fact.

3. Dates and updates

Every guide carries an "Updated [Month Year]" tag. Immigration and financial rules change; a guide's date tells you how current the information was when last checked. If you spot something that has since changed, please let us know.

4. Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it and note the correction. Minor corrections (typos, broken links) are fixed silently. Substantive corrections (a wrong figure, an outdated rule, a misattributed source) are noted at the bottom of the affected article with the date of the correction.

To report an error: [EMAIL], with a link to the specific guide and what looks wrong.

5. Editorial independence from affiliate partners

Writers and editors do not know, at the time a comparison is drafted, which provider will end up ranked first — rankings come from the published methodology (fees, rate markup, speed), not from which company pays the highest commission. See our Affiliate Disclosure for the full commercial picture.

6. AI-assisted drafting, human-reviewed

Some drafting and research on this site is AI-assisted. Every published guide is reviewed by a human before publication and checked against the official sources listed above — AI assistance speeds up drafting, it does not replace verification.

7. What we won't cover

We deliberately stay within migration, money, jobs, and life-in-Europe topics for people relocating from outside the EU. We don't publish general news, fitness content, or unrelated "everything" topics — staying focused is part of how we keep the verification promise above realistic.
